Class L, Norwalk 2, New Milford 0 -- FIELD HOCKEY

Jessica DeGrandi scored both goals as the Bears advanced to the Class L semifinals yesterday.

The 12-seeded Bears (8-3-4-2) will meet No. 1-seed Greenwich (19-1) Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.  Greenwich captured a 1-0 win over Norwalk in the regular season.

This will be Norwalk's second trip to the state semifinals in the past three seasons.  It has never reached the finals.

Norwalk goalkeeper Kim Stow finished with six saves to record the shutout.  Ashley Hinz had seven saves in goal for fourth-seeded New Milford (12-3-1-0).
