Players
Tom Haff (C) Senior captain playing goalkeeper. Made All-FCIAC and had 10 shutouts this year. Great role model and leader. Honor student.
Chris Laughton (C) Talented senior sweeper served as a tri-captain. Named First Team ALL-FCIAC. Honor Student. Three year starter.
Sal Zaccone (C) Speedy senior forward served as tri-captain. Named to the ALL-WEST Team. Had 13 goals and 6 assists. Three year starter.
Andy Soumelidis Senior forward named to the ALL-FCIAC First Team for second consecutive year. Also named to Connecticut Senior Bowl, First Team Class LL ALL-STATE. Connecticut Post All Star, and four-time ALL-AREA. Tallied 18 goals and 10 assists this year, giving him over 100 career points. Four year starter. Honor student.
Roberto Jones A physical presence at stopper. Often drew the assignment of marking the opponent's best forward. Three year varsity starter.
Brian Kurtz Intense outside defender who allowed us to attack from the back. Emotional leader. Three year starter. Honor student.
Chris Giorgione Three year member of the varsity team who played both wing midfield positions. Serves as senior class president.
Sean Rowe Multi-functional player possessing great open field speed. Played both midfield and stopper. Three year varsity starter.
Joe Beauregard Affectionately called "Coach Joe." Played both as an outside midfielder and defender. Had a goal and two assists in one game this season.
Kyle Sasloe Intense outside midfielder who battled through a tough knee injury to contribute two goals and four assists. Has been a starter since his freshman year. Next year's captain.
Amar Bellara An outside defender spending his first full season as a varsity starter. Instrumental in countless attacks from the back. Improved immensely this year. Next year's captain.
Dan Schwartzman First year varsity member played both as an outside defender and midfielder. Should play a much active role next season.
Steve Surace Starting center midfielder with an attacking mind and vision. Had 2 goals and 4 assists this season and is an honor student. Two year varsity member. Next year's captain.
Ben Laughton Talented midfielder whose strong point is defending. Scored first varsity goal versus Bassick on a header. Two year varsity member. Honor student.
Kiko Restrepo Gutsy outside midfielder who earned a starting spot as the season progressed. Will play a major role next season. Honor student.
Ross Martin Hard working wing midfielder who started much of the season. Like Restrepo, will play a huge role next year. Registered three goals and three assists. Honor student.
Luis Hernandez Midfielder/Stopper seeing his first season on the varsity level.
Mike Annunziato Strong, disciplined forward who scored three goals this season. Will look for him to contribute offensively next season.
Nick Afentoulidis Fast, aggressive defender spending his first season on the varsity team. Honor student.
Alfredo Perez Back-up goalie who possesses extremely quick reflexes and excellent speed. Will play a major role in next year's squad.



Coaches

Kurt Simonsen - A lifelong Norwalk resident, Coach Simonsen just completed his second year as the varsity head coach, compiling a combined record of 23-11-2. Before taking over, he served as the program's junior varsity and freshmen coach for four years. A 1990 graduate of McMahon High School, he went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Connecticut at Storrs and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Bridgeport. During the school day Coach Simonsen works as an English Teacher at Norwalk High. In the off season, he serves as the assistant coach for the varsity baseball team and coaches in the Norwalk Indoor Program at Brien McMahon. He resides in Norwalk with his wife and daughter.

George Kasparis - A 1994 graduate of Norwalk High School, Coach Kasparis just finished his second year as the varsity's assistant coach. He earned his Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Connecticut at Storrs and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Bridgeport. While holding a state certification in history education, Coach K teaches at Norwalk High in the ESL program. Outside of soccer he hopes to take the freshman baseball position. He resides in Norwalk.

Joe Surace - Coach Surace has just completed his first season on the Norwalk staff, guiding both the freshman and junior varsity teams. While also holding a referee certification, Coach Surace spends much of his time actively coaching in Norwalk Junior Soccer for two travel teams. Graduate from Brien McMahon High School. Resides in Norwalk with his wife and three soccer playing sons.
