Fraioli's hat trick lifts
Norwalk boys soccer over Wilton
WILTON - Mike Fraioli had a hat trick to lead the Norwalk High boys soccer team
to a 5-0 win over Wilton Friday at Fujitani Field.
Kris Whitteaker gave the bears a 1-0 lead six minutes into the game with a goal
off an assist from Manny Arteaga. The score remained that way until Fraioli
scored his first goal off an assist from Whitteaker 11 minutes into the second
half.
Anthony Fraioli netted his team's third goal in the 60th minute followed by Mike
Fraioli's two goals, off assists from Yves Jean-Baptiste (69 minutes in) and
Anthony Fraioli (5 minutes left in the game).
The Bears raised their record to 10-1-2 while the Warriors fell to 6-7. Norwalk
coach Kurt Simonsen said his team is still vying for one of the top four seeds
in the FCIAC Tournament, which begins Nov. 2.
"We control our own destiny with three games left," he said. "We need points. I
don't care who we beat."
Norwalk rounds out its season against Darien, New Canaan and Bassick.
Mike Surace recorded the shutout in goal against Wilton and made four saves.
Warriors goalie Nathan Wolfson was credited with four saves. The Bears outshot
Wilton 12-6.
